George Zimmerman’s lawyers posted on his
website a first hand account of the events that that led to the death of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman continues to plea that he acted in self-defense and he has now shared written statements to the police and various recordings of interviews with investigators to back up his story.
Minnesota Public Radio provides this
insight
:
“Zimmerman has pleaded innocent to a charge of second-degree murder. Trayvon's family and supporters dispute much of his account, saying that Zimmerman racially profiled the African-American teenager, precipitated the encounter by following Trayvon through the neighborhood and should not have been armed.”
